Our Weekend Burghley Experience focuses on the weekend’s highlights with a four-night stay, access from Friday to Sunday, and prime viewing for key phases. It also includes an exclusive cross-country course walk.Rutland Hall is a lakeside resort hotel set in 70 acres of parkland on the shores of Rutland Water, between the historic market towns of Oakham and Stamford. Originally built in 1890 as a hunting lodge, it combines countryside character with contemporary comfort and makes an excellent base for Burghley Horse Trials. After a day at the event you can return to peaceful grounds, lake views and on-site facilities, with included transfers making the short journey straightforward.

Blossoms Restaurant & Bar is the heart of dining at Rutland Hall, offering relaxed all-day dining with seasonal menus and views over the water and parkland. Guests can enjoy breakfast, light lunches, afternoon tea, Sunday lunch and evening meals, with options ranging from casual plates to more substantial three-course dining. The setting makes it easy to unwind with a meal or drink after a day at Burghley without needing to leave the resort.
Four Roots Wellbeing provides a peaceful, personalised spa experience focused on balance and restoration. Facilities include treatment rooms, bathing and meditation spaces, alongside the resort’s indoor pool, sauna, steam room and gym. Guests can book individual treatments or the signature Four Roots Journey — a multi-hour experience combining bathing, a personalised treatment, meditation and a nourishing dining element. It’s an ideal way to recharge between event days.
Free on-site parking is available across the estate for hotel guests, with ample space in the resort’s car parks. EV charging points are also available (subject to availability). This makes it simple to leave your car at the hotel and use the included transfers to and from Burghley.
Rutland Hall is easily reached by road via the A606 (between Oakham and Stamford) and is well placed for the A1. Oakham station is a short taxi ride away for those arriving by train. Once on site, the short transfer time to Burghley means minimal travel on event days, with the rest of your time free to enjoy the lakeside grounds, walks, or on-site activities such as the pool, gym or crazy golf.

Check-in for hotel rooms is from 3:00pm. Check-out is by 11:00am. Early check-in or late check-out may be available on request, subject to availability and a possible additional charge. Please contact the hotel in advance if you need flexibility.
Breakfast is included each morning as part of your Racing Breaks package. It is served in Blossoms Restaurant (typically 7:30–9:30am weekdays and 7:30–10:00am at weekends).

Rutland Hall is approximately 10 miles / 15–20 minutes’ drive from Burghley House. Your package includes return transfers on event days, so you can leave your car at the hotel and travel stress-free.
