General / About the Event
The Dublin Racing Festival 2027 takes place over two days: Saturday 30 January and Sunday 31 January 2027 at Leopardstown Racecourse, Dublin.
The Dublin Racing Festival (often abbreviated to DRF) is Ireland’s premier mid-winter National Hunt festival. It features eight Grade 1 races across the weekend, headlined by the Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup on Saturday and the Irish Champion Hurdle on Sunday. It is a key trial for the Cheltenham Festival and one of the biggest jump-racing weekends of the year.
It is held exclusively at Leopardstown Racecourse in South County Dublin (Foxrock), approximately 30 minutes from Dublin Airport and a short distance from the city centre.
It is a two-day festival (Saturday and Sunday). Many Racing Breaks customers arrive on the Friday for our exclusive drinks evening and depart on the Monday.
What are the feature races?
- Saturday: Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup (Grade 1)
- Sunday: Irish Champion Hurdle (Grade 1)
There are four Grade 1 races on each day.
Based on recent years (subject to confirmation closer to the event):
- Gates typically open around 10:30–11:20
- First race usually between 12:40–13:20
- Last race mid-to-late afternoon
Exact timings for 2027 will be published closer to the event and will be confirmed in your Racing Breaks documentation.
