Culminating on the final day of the festival with the Group 1 Betfred St Leger Day, this historic race has been won by some legendary horses through the decades and jubilant crowds watch on to see a little piece of horse racing history each year.
Ladies Day
Thursday 11th September 2025
The Betfred St Leger Festival kicks off with a bang on Ladies Day. The ultimate in glitz and glamour, this is Yorkshire's biggest social occasion. The day attracts the finest in fashion, and the stakes are set high with the Style Awards and huge £1000 cash prize to be won.
Doncaster Cup Day
Friday 12th September 2025
The second day of the iconic Betfred St Leger Festival attracts some of the most prestigious racing of the week with the Betfred Doncaster Cup, the oldest race currently run under the rules of horse racing and final leg of the Stayer's Triple Crown, taking centre-stage.
Join us to celebrate the Best of Britain! Expect some of your favourite British food choices and themed entertainment. You can also expect to see some fantastic British winners, like last year's Doncaster Cup winning jockey, Hollie Doyle, aboard Trueshan. But, the Irish challengers will be primed and ready to come out on top in 2024.
St Leger Day
Saturday 13th September 2025
The Betfred St Leger Festival's flagship day brings a dramatic climax. The biggest day of the week and home to the World's oldest Classic and final of the season, the Betfred St Leger Stakes. A well-known saying amongst the racing community states: “The fastest horse wins the Guineas; he luckiest the Derby – and the best horse wins the St Leger".
The showpiece race consistently attracts leading stables across the country and boasts a glittering roll of honour with some of the most acclaimed horses in history.
Sunday Funday
Sunday 14th September 2025
The final day of the festival, the Betfred Sunday Funday, showcases great horse racing, including the Leger Legends charity race for ex-professional jockeys.
That's not all! Get ready for a day of fun, with a whole host of family-friendly entertainment on show across the course.
St Leger Festival Dress Code
Doncaster Racecourse has differing dress codes depending on the enclosure you are based in.
Grandstand Enclosure
The dress code here is relaxed. The only stipulation is sporting team shirts and offensive fancy dress are not permitted.
Premier Enclosure / Home Straight Restaurant
The dress code for the Premier Enclosure and the Home Straight Restaurant is jacket for gentlemen with tie optional and smart attire for ladies. Jeans and sportswear are not permitted in these areas. Children must dress smartly when joining adults in the Premier Enclosure and Home Straight Restaurant.
County Enclosure / Hospitality
Racegoers often choose to adopt a smarter style. Recommendations are, for example, smart jeans or tailored shorts and a collared shirt for gentlemen. Many customers opt to dress for the occasion, the only stipulation is that sportswear and offensive fancy dress are not permitted.
