18th - 21st August 2021
York is one of the most beautiful and picturesque Cities in the whole of the UK and the fact that there is a racecourse here means that you need no more reasons as to why you should visit such a wonderful place.
Located on the Knavesmire on the outskirts of the city centre, York racecourse is one of the oldest courses in the country and the mixture of old and new stands makes for a picturesque backdrop for some of the most exhilarating flat races of the season.
The highlight of the racing calendar has to be the York Ebor Festival which takes place every year in late August. Established in 1846, Ebor Festival is held over four days in late August. The Betfred Race, known as the “oldest, richest, fastest and most famous” race is hosted on the final day.
Fashion plays a major role in the Ebor Festival - for both men and women. The Ebor Fashion Lawn is the place to be spotted and an annual fashion show is held, with the models being race goers. To feature on the catwalk, simply visit the Lawn for timings! Prizes include a trip to Dubai for two and a £500 French Connection voucher.
Getting to Ebor is effortless - there are direct trains to York Station from London King’s Cross, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh. From York station, take the 197 shuttle bus the racecourse, alternatively, it is a short taxi ride away.
York may be known as a medieval town, but it also has a vibrant and diverse array of restaurants - a mix of traditional dining experiences and contemporary bars, ideal for carrying on the post betting celebrations! Melton’s and Bistro 8 are perfect for those looking for a more formal dining experience.
With York having an established University it is only fitting there are bars and clubs. Our top choice of bars include Evil Eye Lounge, Fossgate Social, Vudu Lounge and Bora Bora. Additionally, try one of their many pubs (365 to be precise) - you won’t be disappointed.
For a big night out Kuda is York’s biggest club, located on Clifford Street in the Old York Institute Building. Mansion is best for those who are into Electronica, House and Techno whilst Salvation is not for the faint hearted. Flares is perfect for hen and stag parties who want to dance to 80s and early 00s classics!
