1. The Track Kitchen
A must for those doing for the full two days. The kitchen offers a hearty breakfast at a reasonable price, and the dining room walls are covered with photos of some of Keeneland’s biggest stars: both human and equine. Located on the north end of the grounds, just past the barns, you can take a follow-up driving tour around gorgeous landscape. Dining starts at 6am every day.
2. Mezzanine and Sports Bars
Perhaps the busiest places on race days, these are the best locations to order Kentucky’s signature bourbon. Both bars offer several varieties, with the venue taking pride in its vast local selection. Check out the Keeneland Breeze, Keeneland's iconic cocktail.
3. Burgoo and Bread Pudding
A trip to Keeneland isn’t complete without sampling two local staples: ‘burgoo’, the stew-like soup, and bread pudding topped with bourbon sauce. Both are available at the Track Kitchen and, with the races held in November, a hearty stew is sometimes more than welcome... the bread pudding is well-hyped for a reason!
4. The Library
This 10,000-square-foot facility is one of the largest sites for racing information, and is home to almost 30,000 books, journals and catalogues. Thousands of articles, on all aspects of the industry, are housed here.
