Cheltenham Gold Cup Day Northern Belle Experience

The ultimate way to experience Cheltenham Gold Cup Day, with hospitality on-board this stunning vintage train from London.
Pristine white linen and sparkling glassware adorn your table in one of our individually decorated 1930s Pullman-style carriages, which have been lovingly restored by some of the country's top craftspeople, including marquetry experts, muralists and mosaic artists. Within minutes, one of our liveried Stewards will carefully pour you a sparkling Mimosa cocktail as you study celebrated Head Chef Matthew Green’s sumptuous menu. Ahead lies a journey back to the Golden Days of rail travel, a time when nothing was too good for the pampered passengers. As the date of your journey draws near our Executive Head Chef and his team will be hard at work in the kitchen carriage preparing a sumptuous three-course brunch and five-course dinner, accompanied by our Sommelier’s choice of wine. Each course boasts the finest seasonal ingredients from the British Isles, classic and innovative dishes are crafted in our recently refurbished kitchen carriage. En route to Gloucestershire a delicious three-course brunch is served as the glorious British countryside passes by. On arrival at Evesham station, follow the platform guides as they accompany you to our private transfer which will escort you to Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway for a steam train transfer to the racecourse. After an incredible day we re-join the Northern Belle for a Champagne reception, before tucking into a sumptuous five-course dinner during the leisurely journey home.

The opening day of The Festival, is headlined by the Champion Hurdle, which has been won over the years by some of history's biggest names, the likes of Constitution Hill, Honeysuckle & Hurricane Fly. One of the most popular days, it's where the excitement begins as everyone is buzzing to be back! Make sure you are there to witness who'll be writing their name in the history books.

Famously St Patrick's Thursday, Day Three at The Festival is when we celebrate all things Irish, with the Ryanair Chase and the Stayers' Hurdle headlining the action. Be sure to wear some green and head to the Guinness Village to enjoy a pint of the black stuff whilst you make the most of all of the Irish hits, jigs and Celtic reels!

Gold Cup Day
Friday 14th March 2025
The final day is when the pinnacle of Jump racing takes place, The Cheltenham Gold Cup. Not only does it headline Day Four, but it's also the feature race of The Festival for spectators, jockeys and trainers alike. Playing a major part in the sporting calendar in the UK each year, its winners go down in history with the likes of Best Mate & Kauto Star becoming household names.
Cheltenham Festival Dress Code
Whilst the Jockey Club has no formal dress code in place, many racegoers do like to dress up for the Festival. Cheltenham Racecourse is the Home of Jump Racing and The Cheltenham Festival is home to some of the finest racing in the world, and with the finest racing often comes the finest fashion.
Style is as individual as you. The Cheltenham Festival is the perfect occasion to wear your best outfits and favorite accessories. The weather can be unpredictable, so you're advised to dress accordingly.
Two-thirds of the car parks are on grass, so please bear this in mind and wear suitable footwear for the conditions.
During The Cheltenham Festival, fancy dress is not permitted in Hospitality, restaurant facilities, or in the Club Enclosure.
Fancy dress is permitted in other areas as long as the outfit isn't offensive.
